[b]Following the recent close election in Bexar county, the headlines caught my eye.
I have noticed a trend with ES&S Ivotronic with close elections, computer malfunctions, and missing votes[/b].
This happened in my state, NC. I am not against ES&S alone, I dont trust any computerized voting.
However, I see a [b]pattern of covering up, malfeasance, incompetance, and failed elections in its wake.[/b]
[b]ES&S did not tell Indiana, North Carolina, or Lubbock Texas that it had problems with this software even before, (2002) and in other states, let
alone other counties[/b].
2 in North Carolina,
4 in Indiana, and
1 in Lubbock Texas that I am aware of
[b]The County Election Director in Johnson County Indiana decided she needed an election consultant to make sure that the ES&S Ivotronic machines ran more smoothly going forward. [/b]She hired an ES&S technician that ES&S fired because the technician refused to violate election law.
[b]Bexar County needs protection for its next election too![/b]
These machines are unreliable and the vote cannot be verified. Recounts cannot be done.
[b]There is no permanent record of the voter's intent that was VERIFIED BY THE VOTER at the time of casting the vote.[/b]

I am wondering if the software malfunctioned during the Bexar County Elections?
Look at how ES&S has repeated the same mistakes and malpractice elsewhere in Texas and other states.
They take no steps to prevent problems:

[i]ES&S then later retrofitted the systems with an older version of software, 6.1.2, that is certified in Indiana but faces compatibility problems when loaded onto the new voting systems. County Hires Former Voting Machine Co. Worker as Election Consultant _SHE HIRED HIM TO PROTECT THE VOTE, SHE DIDN'T TRUST THE MACHINES OR THE COMPANY ANYMORE -
Johnson County has hired an election consultant. He's the same man a voting machine company fired last month as the county's project manager.
Doug Orange worked for Election Systems and Software. [b]County Clerk Jill Jackson told I-Team 8 she believes he was fired for refusing to zero the counters on touch-screen voting machines at the courthouse instead of at the polls as Indiana law requires[/b].
The clerk lobbied to hire Orange for the May primary. ES&S says it will work toward another successful election in the county.

[b]A software programming glitch catches the blame for votes in the Precinct 8 Democratic chairman race not being counted,[/b] Dorothy Kennedy, Lubbock County elections administrator, said Wednesday. The problem prompts a recount of those votes and votes for all of Lubbock County, she said. The discrepancy in the precinct race was discovered Wednesday afternoon, Kennedy said. She said new software will be used to tabulate the votes, prompting the recount for the entire county. North Carolina had the SAME PROBLEM AS INDIANA WITH ES&S USING OUT-DATED FIRMWARE IN THE TOUCHSCREEN ELECTION EQUIPMENT.

WAKE COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA TOUCHSCREEN DISASTER 2002:
Flawed software on ES&S iVotronic touch screens caused 436 ballot to be lost in the 2002 Wake County election in North Carolina.
[b]Wake County had problems with their touchscreen machines in 2002. They failed to count 436 ballots cast [/b]at a Cary senior citizens center and a Raleigh police substation.
Officials noticed the problem on a Sunday night when [b]the number of ballots cast did not match the number of ballots counted[/b]. The Election officials called all of the voters on the list that they could, and advised them that they would have to vote again.
[b]The problem machines were removed,[/b] and voters at the two sites are casting ballots the old-fashioned way. Election officials said this may convince them to stick with what they know works.
*[b]The “firmware in the touch-screen voting machines failed. [/b]
*The technician WAS NOT ABLE TO RETRIEVE THE AUDIT DATA.
*ES&S knew about the problem earlier because the same problem
happened several days prior in Jackson county.
*ES&S did not notify Wake County of the problem so that measure
could be taken to make sure all votes were counted.

MIAMI -- A former Florida secretary of state profited by being a lobbyist for both the state's counties and the company that sold some of them touch screen voting machines used in last month's botched primary election.
[b]Sandra Mortham, who served as the state's top elections official from 1995 to 1999, is a lobbyist[/b] for both Election Systems & Software and the Florida Association of Counties, which exclusively endorsed the company's touch screen machines in return for a commission.
[b]Mortham received a commission from ES&S for every county that bought its touch screen machines[/b]. The exact terms have not been disclosed.
The deals came after the state last year ordered its counties to dump their punch card voting systems, which had marred the 2000 presidential election with hanging chads and butterfly ballots.
[b]Twelve of Florida's 67 counties bought ES&S machines, including Miami-Dade and Broward counties[/b], which had severe problems during the Sept. 10 primary election. While elections officials said lack of poll worker training caused most problems, some blamed the machines.
Mortham and the association's former president insist there was nothing improper about the deals. Broward County Commissioner Ben Graber disagreed

W A S H I N G T O N, [b]Sept. 7 2001 A congressional watchdog agency is getting ready to decide whether it will take the Bush administration to court [/b]as the [u]White House continues to defy [/u]demands for information about its secret energy policy meetings

Agency May Sue White House
The General Accounting Office, which has been pressing Vice President Cheney's office since May to turn over information on the closed-door sessions that produced the national energy policy, set a Thursday deadline for the administration to turn over documents relating to the meetings.
The White House continues to refuse to provide any of the requested information and the expiration of the deadline brings the battle one step closer to the federal courts.
"This is a very serious matter with significant potential implications for GAO, the Congress and the American people. It involves several fundamental good government principles, including the right of the Congress to oversee the executive branch, and the need for transparency and accountability in connection with the development and execution of federal
government policies that can affect the lives of every American," the GAO's comptroller general said in a prepared statement released today.
[b]"We are finalizing our discussions with key congressional leaders and are preparing for possible litigation. [/b]
According to the GAO, the investigative arm of Congress, there have been just five occasions in the last 20 years when the agency went to the brink of asking a federal judge to order a government entity to produce
information.
Each time, one side or the other ultimately backed down. But neither the White House nor the GAO has given any indication it is prepared to do so in this case.
Power Play
Cheney headed up the task force that drafted Bush's plan to expand the nation's capacity to produce energy. Two Democratic congressmen asked the GAO to launch the investigation into Cheney's task force in April,
suspecting it was effectively being written by Bush campaign supporters in the energy industry. Environmental groups claim they were shut out
of the process.
The White House believes the GAO has the legal authority to seek documents only when the agency initiates an investigation on its own or at
the request of either Congress or a congressional committee. [b]In this case, the request came from Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., the [/b]top Democrat
on the House Government Reform Committee.
If the GAO got what it wanted in this case, one White House spokeswoman said, the agency would "become an instrument of partisan warfare."
The administration's decision to allow the GAO's deadline to pass without response came a day after ABCNEWS confirmed that [b]Bush would invoke executive privilege, his right to have private conversations with White House staff, to keep congressional investigators from getting their hands on Justice Department memos from the Clinton administration. [/b]A House
committee today upped the stakes in the battle for that material, sending a subpoena to the agency.
The House passed the Bush energy plan in August. But it hangs in limbo in the Senate, where the Democratic lawmakers who control the chamber have other priorities.

[b]April 1: Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and John Dingell[/b], D-Mich., send letter to GAO asking the agency to look into the energy task force.
[b]May 8: In response to the request letter, GAO asks the energy task force to provide details [/b]on the times, attendees and agendas for the meetings.
[b]May 16: Vice President Dick Cheney's counsel[/b], David Addington, responds to GAO by [b]refusing to provide information [/b]and questioning the agency's authority to conduct such a review.
[b]June 1: GAO responds, defending its authority [/b]and providing a list of questions.
[b]June 7: Addington again refuses the request[/b], arguing the GAO is limited only to asking accounting questions of a financial nature.
[b]June 21: White House sends GAO 77 pages [/b]of information on the costs of the energy task force, but [b]not details on who [/b]was involved in the meetings.
[b]June 22: GAO again details its legal right [/b]to ask for the information and demands compliance from the vice president's office.

MY POINT IS - THE CCA ENDORSES POLITICAL CANDIDATES, AND RECOMMENDS THEM BASED ON THE CHRISTIAN MORALS THEY SUPPOSEDLY REPRESENT.
People like this and our present Administration in the White House are ANOTHER BAD EXAMPLE.

[b]The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas![/b] And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.
[b]But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.[/b]
Here's the idea: For the rest of this year,
[b]DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL[/b]. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. [b]But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers.[/b] It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!
[b]I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) . and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000).and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION[/b]
consumers!
If those three million get excited and ! pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!
[b]Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. [/b]That's all. (If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am ... so trust me on this one.)
How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

This guy is at a truck stop/travel plaza where they have those new electronic monitors that are supposed to go off if you are stealing something.
He keeps setting off the monitors, although he didnt have any purchases or merchandise.
A worker took a wand and swiped the guy with it.
Turns out it was his wallet that did it!
Supposedly these guys brainstormed the fact that most [b]items can be 'microwaved' to fry the 'rfid' chip, [/b]thus elimination of tracking by our government.
They then 'microwaved' the cash, over $1000 in twenties in a stack.
